Something from Erin

IMG_8072
Long overdue post this is!!! :)
I’ve received this from a dear friend all the way from Australia, from dear Erin (earringsbyerin @ Etsy) – I’ve posted this in April 2009, about Erin’s design got on to Art Jewelry Magazine’s coverpage, and if I am not wrong, another one of her tutorial is on it’s way very soon - as soon as beginning of year 2010. It felt so different to have held and read Erin’s tutorial by hand, as in, physically, and I certainly grateful to have known Erin.
Thanks sweetie, and wish you a continuous success!!!
P/S When this tutorial became available online, do give me a buzz! *wink wink*

Etsy Store 2nd Year Anniversary and the First 1000th item sold

1000

7 more days to my 2nd year anniversary with Etsy!!!

I hit the first 500 transactions record in last year’s 14th December 2008, and it hit the 1000th count today – just in time for the second year anniversary.

For that I am grateful, cause as you know I am selling my products in other places too: de Cor’s Official Instant Download website, ArtFire and formerly, in JewelryLessons.com, so I wasn’t expecting to keep up the record.

So thank you so much for all the support! I can only promise you of more goodies in the future.

And last but not least…

ETSY, I LOVE YOU!

Snowflakes Studs, Wired Chinese Knot

 IMG_7836 IMG_7838IMG_7839 IMG_7834IMG_7840
Question: Is it possible to create a pair of studs earrings out from Snowflakes Earrings Tutorial that you’ve released for last year’s Christmas?
Answer: Of course.

In fact I have plans. A little something for you my dear readers, for those who have had the Snowflakes Earrings Tutorial since last year.
To make this pair of studs earrings, this is all you need to prepare:
Materials:
  1. 2” of 20ga dead soft round wires
  2. 7 X 2.5mm round beads (make sure the bead hole allows 20ga wires to go through)
Tools:
  1. Round nose pliers
  2. Flat nose pliers
  3. Flush cutter
  4. Ruler
Basic and Quick Instructions:
Step 1: Measure 1” from one end for both wires
Step 2: Make a cross and then insert one bead at each exit wires.
Step 3: Tie the Snowflakes knot as instructed in Snowflakes Tutorial.
Step 4: Now you will have 4 exit wires after tying the knot, choose ONE of the exit wires and fold it 90 degrees behind – this will become your post earrings wires. Measure 8mm for the rest of THREE exit wires and trim away the excess, use your round nose pliers to make a loop on each wires.
Step 5: Push each loop down to open them sideway, insert ONE bead to each loop. Push it back up to close the loop and you’re done.

Pretty simple isn’t it? I would love to spend more time creating more stuff but I really am very tight up recently, so I does everything in mind first. It took me 2 hours to visualize it in my mind before I execute it, and I’ve spent 30 minutes for the actual work, as what one of my very wise friend said: Everything that happens, happens two times, once in our mind and once when it happens because we made it happen. :)

Good luck, and say you love me!

The new born

IMG_7799

I have been quiet haven’t I? :)
My sister just gave birth to a new baby, we are totally filled with joy! The new born is gorgeous, and her brother adores her completely. Here’s something interesting: according to my sister, she didn’t know she was ready to give birth since there’s no pain no nothing and she thought the doctor would have asked her to go home and wait again, until they’ve examined her and realized that it’s already opened for 6cm, a little push the baby will be delivered!
I mean, really, what else she could have asked for, right? The new born definitely is a thoughtful one, she didn’t want her mother suffer too much!
And since I am all busy with my nephew and niece, I don’t think I will be creating. :)
So til then, wishing you a very happy Christmas and New Year 2010! :)

May you and your family well blessed!
