Wire Flat Knot Hoops Earrings uses Flat Knot (平結) in Chinese knotting crafts, and this does not exist in Japanese Mizuhiki (Japanese decorative cord tying), however, it is most similar to the “Awaji Musubi” in mizuhiki.

When I began blending wire jewelry making with traditional knotting arts, I anticipated encountering countless coincidences. This is simply because Chinese knotting art, mizuhiki paper cord tying art, macramé, and wire weaving and wrapping art, they all have long and rich histories.
In the book Art and Fear (艺术与恐惧）, it’s said that when an art form reaches a highly stable phase, it becomes difficult for new, true masters to emerge in those fields, These words reflect my deepest conviction as an artist.
So when I combined these well-established knotting traditions with another mature technique — metal wire weaving and wrapping — I knew I was actually opening up a new Genesis phase. Because no one had done it before, it meant there are new things to explore again from now in those fields. Once I developed my own method of integration, I could walk through the entire creative process again, starting from this Genesis point.
Once I developed and refined this new way of combining them, I can walk through the creative process anew from this genesis point, and when more people start to appreciate this method of integration, some may feel inspired to also combine knotting and wire weaving and wrapping, or take it further.
