DIY Silver Circle Studs Post Earrings, Wire Jewelry Tutorial

Handmade Circle Studs / Post Earrings
I am super excited to announce this - that I have finally finalized and uploaded a new Wire Jewelry Tutorial to YouTube. I didn't expect myself to have taken so long to have this uploaded, but because I can only work on this when kids are taking their naps (and if I managed to stay awake after they dozed off), and after they finally call it a day at night.

My recent fav quote: Simplicity is never simple.

In order to make this pair of simple looking earrings, you might need to anticipate some fair bit of practice, though I do hope you enjoy it!

Leave me a comment of what you think! :)

Handmade Silver Circle Post Earrings, Studs Earrings

Commissioned piece.
Really tiny, about 1cm at it's widest measure/diameter, approximately 5gram in total.

Simplicity is never simple. I've spent quite fair bit of effort experimenting, happy to see the outcome, hope you like it too. More pictures:

Will list this in my Etsy under Made-to-Order section.
Cheers,

Sterling Silver Circle Post Earrings, Handmade Wire Jewelry

Sterling Silver Circle Stud Earrings
Sterling Silver Circle Stud Earrings. Can you tell that I am still playing around with hammered wires with pierced hole? This simple stud earrings are actually quite fun to make, I had to give it some thought to stay put the wires tail from sliding out from the hole.

Definitely something worth my time exploring, can't wait to adapt this into some other jewelry designs. :)

Gold Rose Studs Earrings, Malaysia Handmade Jewelry

Gold Rose Studs. Made with 14K Gold Filled wires, gold plated prong settings featuring Swarovski Xilion Chatons.

I managed to catch some time to quickly setup a place to take some photos via camera (instead of phone, oh I miss my DSLR and lenses.), 30 minutes, just in time to hear my daughter to wake up from her nap. Now that I am browsing through the photos, the more i see the more I am losing faith. The late nights certainly planting some side effects, only 3 or 4 pictures out from those photos are not blur, yes i know i could have use tripod, but man I only have 30 minutes, and the lighting wasn't even perfect for photoshooting. /_\

BUT I AM LUCKY! This is one of those that's decent enough to present. So here you go!

Can't wait to see the reaction of the new owner of these pretties!!!

Handmade Silver Rose Studs Post Earrings - Commissioned by Myra

Myra just drove to where I live to pick up this pair of earrings (Thanks dear! Sorry I didn't come out to greet you, it's my little one's nap time, thanks for understanding!)

It's a mixed feeling to part with what I have made, but to go further one must think farther, I have been visioning myself bumping into someone who'd wearing my creations, I trust that day will come. :)

Like I've said, no one pair of Handmade Silver ROSE Studs Post Earrings are the same, this pair, is different from Jeci's, though the difference are not significant from it's appearance, it is to me, each weave and each wires ties are very different, another crafter might be able to spot it, not regular wearer. Hehe.

Handmade Silver Rose Studs Post Earrings - Commissioned by Jeci

Ms. Jeci contacted me in March to place order, she was going to give birth to a April baby! I thought it's very thoughtful of her to have the Mother's Day gift planned out before the arrival of her baby, she even planned how the earrings should be delivered so she can gift this to the receiver in time. :)

Thanks Jeci, hope she loves it.

Malaysia Handmade Jewelry - Completed and Ready to Ship

I hadn't posted anything last week, not because I hadn't made anything, I was practicing.

When I was finalizing the last pair of ROSE Studs Earrings last month I found a new way to deliver this pretty design, so I sent a mail to both the customers telling them that there might be slight delay on the delivery of their commissions, "I need to practice", I told them.

They were very supportive, and one of them actually asked: "How much do I have to top up?"

I chuckled a little.

"No sir, no additional charges."

Though I do use more silver to accomplish this version of Silver Rose Studs, with a different gauges of wires.

Will be off to post office to send them off this Friday, can't wait to find if the new owners would love them. :)

These sisters are going to part for good - one continue to reside in Malaysia and another one is going to be on it's way to Germany.

Hope you love what I've created! :)

I hope your valentine loves it.

P/S I have improved the making a little, so a little bit more of silver added into it, it's more sturdy as a result.

Handmade Silver Rose Studs Earrings, Wired Chinese Knot Jewelry

Finally found some time to take some pictures of my recent commissioned project, yes, it's Silver Rose Studs Earrings again.

A variation of ROSE Pendant, and again I've replaced the cubic zirconia diamond cut beads with Swarovski Chaton Montees (without changing the price, though!).

I have done some change on the wires arrangement to make the petals more uniformed and organized, as a result, more silver wires were consumed.

Here's some details of this pair of earrings.

ROSE Studs Earrings measurement:
Weight: 1.8gram each, total 3.6gram
Material: Swarovski Chaton Montees Crystals.
All metals are 92.5 sterling silver.

Please allow a little bit of shameless self promotion here, the earrings are so, so, so pretty. I stared at them to find a perfect angle to photograph them so the photos could do them a justice, but can't. They are absolutely gorgeous when you are looking at them in real life instead of photos, I hope you enjoy viewing following pictures nonetheless!

P/S I haven't stop fine tuning the workflow and process of making this design, yet, so I would like to thank all my customers for buying my product before it is perfect.

With lots of love,

Serena Flower Studs and Jewelry Headband - Malaysia Wire Jewelry

Greetings from Malaysia.

Noticed that I didn't wear the design and have some photoshoots? I hesitated because:
1. I have put on weight becoming a mother, I am still in the midst of losing them. I thought I would lose them first before I post photo of myself again. :P

2. Because I do not have time to reproduce the design, I stole the anti-clockwise side of the earrings and turned it into jewelry headband for my baby so that she could wear it for her cousin's birthday party.

3. I still haven't reproduce the anti-clockwise side of the earring, hence, I do not have a pair of earrings to show as of today.

But request came in early. I have to let people know how does it look like when worn.

So here it is. Serena Flower Studs Earrings, absolutely easy to be modified and made into jewelry headband, too.

The anti-clockwise side of earring is now a jewelry headband. And it belongs to my little princess now.

As for the back of the design - I promise it's not bulky. It is as flat/lean/clean as you could ever want it to be. :)

Download the instruction if you are interested to make one for your own:

I do hope you are happy to see me again. :)

Flower Studs for Mother's Day, Wire Jewelry Malaysia

Greeting from Malaysia - Happy Mother's Day to you all, my dear blog followers!

This is the first design I've successfully came up with after officially being a mother. Design is for Mother's Day 2012, and the finished product belongs to my mother in law now (I am getting my own mother something else, heh!). Sigh being a mother is not easy, I had been warned and finally am understood how hard it is - it took me about 10 days to complete this pair of post earrings - why? Because I could barely complete constructing a petal a day, my little one is keeping me busy all the time and she's too cute for me to take my eyes off her!

So these are again, post earrings/ studs, a rather big post earrings/ studs, a good 3cm in diameter to be exact. I do realize how I had been making studs earrings designs, mommies didn't have many chance to wear pretty jewelry, I totally feel it now, and I hope this design can be accepted!

Design inspired by Serena Van Der Woodsen from Gossip Girl, I thought I saw wearing something like this in one of the episode, or in one of the press event? :)

All petals are adjustable, you can make it more 3D if you would like. I adjusted it in a way that they could sit properly on the ear lobes and oh, the earrings' posts are positioned right at the design's center.

And this is how big they are on my palm.

I am going to make this to a jewelry headband soon, also, I will be writing a simple instruction for this design, though I do wonder how long will it take to materialized. Please anticipate nontheless? :)

Again wishing you all Happy Mothers' Day, hope you have a good one!!!

Wired Chinese Knot - ZHU.Studs

DIY Mommies wear Stud / Post Earrings this is!!!

I named it "ZHU.Stud" - inspired from Chinese Knotting, it's constructed using Chinese Knots, just that I've constructed it with wires instead of traditional fabric cords.

Earrings Measurement: 5mm X 5mm
Weight: 0.7gram each stud.

I only used 20ga wires amd 24ga wires to create this pair of earrings, and standard wire jewelry making tools for execution.

The final result is extremely light weight and I can barely feel it, it's also tiny enough thus I doubt any little one is able to snatch - then again, will need to observe. I remember when my sister had her first child, I made a pair of earrings as gift, she said thanks politely but I've never see her wearing it. When I asked, she told me she can't really wear any dangling earrings, she only wear simple studs.

Since then I've been creating studs.

Pardon my ignorance back then, it's new to me, that babies love to pull, snatch and grasp things as they discover what their hands can do, and often the victim is their Mom. My nephew yanked my earrings as and when he want (sometimes I forgot to remove them before I approach the baby), I had to beg him to release me! Hoops are the worst accessories, too, unless you enjoy punishments.

So yes, we are expecting our first little one next month, and I STILL want to be accessorized - and I know many Moms too, therefore, for someone who had not been producing making any wire jewelry, I took out my toolbox again and made this pair of stud earrings. I know I would be totally busy with my little one soon enough, and of hand I have two stud earrings designs yet to be materialized.

So what’s the solution if you still want to accessorize? Studs — the classic, a must-have in the earring world. Because they fasten on tight to your earlobe, a baby’s hands aren’t as likely to grab them so easily.

Other Stud/ Post Earrings designs I've made so far that you might be interested:
Rose Stud/ Post Earrings
Stud/ Post Earrings for White Swan
Woodsen Stud/ Post Earrings
Lilyv, Stud/ Post Earrings
Squarie, Stud/ Post Earrings
Basically, Lilyv and Squarie is the extended design of ZHU.Studs.

So if you are expecting, or if you wish to accessorize your friends/ relatives that's expecting or already have kids, I think this could be a best pressie for them - and you DIY it, that add extra meaning to it. :)

Happy crafting!
