Wire Jewelry Tutorial: Wire Wrapped Heart Fibula by JewlieBeads

image

So Julie from JewlieBeads released her new tutorial just a few days ago – selling like hot cake in Etsy!

This beautiful Fibulas make the perfect addition to those thick cozy sweaters or to simply hold a scarf or shawl in place. In this step by step tutorial she will show you how to make her "Wire Wrapped Heart Fibula". It has 34 pages and 55 steps.

Note: Julie only post her tutorials in certain revenue, so if you come from somewhere that can’t find her tutorials, I suggest you pay a visit to her Etsy store. :)

P/S Thanks Julie for allowing me post this information on my blog.

It’s almost weekend YAY!

IMG_7255IMG_7264 IMG_7304IMG_7286IMG_7276IMG_7277

Had the thought whilst driving home last night after having a long day, will post this to my gallery later.

Thank you wires. You grant me peace, I love you.

I have missed you, dearie.

I mailed Ewa 2 hours before I launched my new instant download site, to tell her how excited I was. And I told her I have missed her, she then sent me some pictures. She’s still the Ewa I know. I bet you miss her too. :)

P/S Ewa, hurry up your photostreams!

One day…

dreamstudio

You know how much I love to read, and you would wonder what do I read most of the time. Well basically I read just about everything and anything, and I feel guilty if I don’t read for more than 3 days. I don’t know about you but I always find all columnists in Etsy Storque are wonderful, so informative and they write about stuff that’s so relevant to what I do everyday! So human. :P

And so I found this article last week: Etsy :: Storque :: Seller Tip: Present Yourself to the Press. And then I keep going back to the same page, to see the above picture - atelierpompadour's studio, photo source: atelierpompadour’s photostream on flickr (thanks!)

DID YOU SEE THAT??? YES THAT, THAT HAMMOCK! And did you see the blues and the pinks? AND THOSE WOOD!!!
ishh… I am so jealous. I am so jealous because I don’t even have a proper work place for my jewelry creation. When I am not creating I keep all my tools and materials, and I set aside my books and laptop and mouse when I need to draw and create – cause I am working from the same table, a 3ft X 1.5ft table from IKEA (I will take a picture of my work place for you to see one day!) And I barely work in the natural sunlight, because I create after working hours, usually from 8pm to slightly pass midnight…

Did I sound like I am ranting? Opps. No no I am not ranting. I am just… reviewing my current situation and putting some serious thoughts to make things more sustainable. I used to wake up 3 to 4 times a night to check E-mail, just in case there’s transactions/orders. I tried my best to deliver them ASAP, I really didn’t want my jewelry friends to wait for their orders for too long. And that lifestyle is totally not sustainable. I am glad that things are slowly changing now, the situation improved so much after I’ve launched my Official E-commerce Instant Download Website. With the help from my official site, I am now able to plan and do more other stuff, for example, blogging now instead of creating, because I’ve already delivered a priority item yesterday! I am rewarding myself a free and easy Monday evening today!

Back to atelierpompadour’s studio. I really wish to have a proper studio like atelierpompadour’s studio, but having a place as such in the house means I will need to install another air-conditioning unit! And… space is also another major concern. Over here everyone lives in houses that look exactly the same in the entire neighborhood, people here don’t build their own house, and extending the house plan is a hassle – dealing with the government is a hassle, and because no one know how to build a house, no one ever need to use any tool, my friends were amazed that I know how to use a drill (to coil wires lol!). Anyway I am sure things will played out correctly one day.. ONE-DAY. :)

Have a great week ahead will ya? And take care!

JiaSha Earrings with Garnet

IMG_7223 IMG_7225 IMG_7230 IMG_7236 IMG_7239 IMG_7244

The JiaSha Knot Tutorial is still $2 cheaper at the moment, my plan is listing them in my Etsy and ArtFire store sometime this week, and that would mean the price will be revert back to it’s original price then. So seriously, grab it now whilst the promotion is still on!

Made these just in time before she leave. The owner’s born in January, that’s why its Garnet.

She asked why were those spaces uneven? I told her that’s because she started to examine my creations like an artist – instead of someone who’d wore jewelry as jewelry. The difference between the two was – artist obverse details and recognizes flaw(s), the latter see jewelry as a whole and often won’t realize it’s imperfection(s). :P

Sounds cunning didn’t I? LOL. I am not 100% lying and you knew it.

And last but not least, I told her not to worry about the uneven spaces, they all will adjust themselves to sit at the right places after awhile!!!

Earrings details:

  • weight: 6.3gram in total.
  • 4cm tall and 1” at it’s widest measure.
  • Garnet bead (1cm X 7mm)
  • Rock Crystal

Now, am off for some book reading before start to work on another commissioned piece again! Enjoy the Sunday!

For LC, yet to be finalized.

IMG_7174IMG_7190 IMG_7201IMG_7208 IMG_7215IMG_7200

I told you I have 2 more JiaSha pieces to go at top of my list – but I can’t help but have to mobilize my tight schedule for this. The requirement was: Studs, and black. So here’s something I’ve came up with – studs with Smoky Quartz. I want the owner to see this in person first before I break my silver. Will update you how it go next week, so check back! Meanwhile, have a great weekend!

1) JiaSha Pendant variation

2) JiaSha earrings with Garnet teardrops.

In fact – the second item should be at the top of priority list, the owner will be gone after this weekend.

*Hurry up Corra!!! You can do eeeiiiiitt!!!*

P/S: SO QUICK!!! GRAB THIS TUTORIAL WHILE IT IS STILL $2USD CHEAPER!!!

Brand New Page…

top-product

I shall said I’ve just flipped a brand new page for my jewelry making journey yesterday. :)

The Grand Opening went extremely well yesterday, and it’s a weird mixed feeling to sit right infront of computer seeing orders coming in and yet – I don’t have to do anything about it, I don’t have to send the attachment out, I know no one’s waiting.

The above picture shows what’s TOP Download for yesterday – and I am glad that Jia-Sha Tutorial is doing very well on it’s own. I am glad that you like it, and most importantly, thank you for taking up the challenge!

I do have plans for the site, but as for now, I will let it stabilized for a week or two, before I add new stuff in it. Hope you enjoyed your stay, and please don’t forget to view my Gallery to check out those gorgeous photos.

Be good!

xoxo,

de Cor’s - Grand Opening

Home

If you follow my blog frequent enough, you will realized I’ve slowed down a lot creating new pieces in the passed few months – sorry, that’s because I was busy bring up my new official e-commerce site – de Cor’s Handmades by Corra Liew. The opening date will be on this coming Wednesday, check your local time when de Cor’s will become available by clicking HERE.

How this site came along:

Given the fact that the majority of you lives in another side of the world, I decided that it is absolutely make sense if I would invest a site to serve you on 24/7 basis.

Bear in mind that living in another side of the world means, I have a different set of Public Holidays as compared to you, I live in a different time-zone as compared to you, I’d most probably sleeping when you checked out item(s) from my blog/Etsy/Artfire, I thank you for your patience all these while – now it’s time for me to do something to make you happy! So instead of waiting for me to deliver your order(s) to you, I let the system handle the delivery, you no longer have to wait, the download link will be activated right after PayPal processed your payment. Please bear in mind that your download link(s) is not permanent for security reasons, instead, it will be valid for 3 days or maximum 3 downloads after the payment, that said, the link will expire after you clicked on it for 3 times, or if you would like download it later, do it in 3 days.

A sneak-peak of the site and the new tutorial – with discounted price! :)

DCH012SpecialPrice

I hope you like the offer – to encourage use of the new site, I’ve marked down the price of the new tutorial for limited time only, price will be reset back to $9.95USD as and when it happen, de Cor’s reserves the right to revise the price without prior notification. Oh, I forgot to mention, there’s another FOC tutorial posted in the new site too – so do register to download it for FREE!

JiaSha bookmark

Photo379 Photo380

I have been told to make a bookmark, I have no idea how on earth my design can be a bookmark, and she said, leave that part to her. Today I’ve got a mail, from the owner and….

tada….!!!

Ah… So-desu-ne!

I thought the charm will be used to be the bookmark itself, that’s why I made it super FLAT. Now that I know how it should work, quite inspiring!

P/S I have been busy working on my new site: http://de-cors.com recently, and it should be launched next week. After that I should be able to get back to the drawing board for more new designs, so please check back soon!

JiaSha Pendant with Amethyst

IMG_6588 IMG_6609 IMG_6613 IMG_6625

I am designing something for a lovely bride that’s born in February! So Amethyst it has to be! Still not sure what I am going to make – but I have to come up with the design SOON!

And this... still JiaSha knot, but I tied it more rounds, just like to experiment a little before I finalize the measurement, it'll come handy when I work out the tutorial for this design. :)

So… Happy Friday all, and have a peaceful weekend!

Also… a little prayers to folks in Indonesia.
