Technique: Braided Cross Tutorial

Hehe, Crosses goes multiply!!! Each time I make a braided cross I’d found a way to improve the knotting and the composition somehow, which is a good thing to me!

Off topic:

Today is 端午節 (Duan Wu Festival, aka Dumplings Festival) in Chinese calendar, as usual Mum was busy making 粽子 and I’ve been having that for lunch for few days now. :) Nice stuff, I do know how to wrap them up, Mum taught me few years ago, but I still don’t know what’s the recipe:

And It’s almost Friday now! YAY!

Happy Duan Wu Festival all!

Question:

“Can it be made using just plain wire, and not coiled wire? The coiled wire makes it more feminine in my opinion...and would be great for a lady, but for a man, I'd prefer regular plain wire.”

Answer:

“Coiled wires are more versatile for design as such. You could, however, try this design with plain wires but it has to be 26ga or 24ga, nothing thinner else you won't be able to see the knots...”

So…

Today I gave it a try of the mentioned answer just to proof the concept. A returning customer of mine (thank you!) dropped me a convo at Etsy requesting for a pair of Hoops Earrings. “Do whatever you want.”, she added. Don’t you just like a request like this? Get to close a deal yet able to make something totally your way? :)

So here’s the Hoops Earrings. She always like her stuff blings, so I attached 3 CZ Diamond cut stones to the hoops, utilizing the same knotting introduced in Braided Cross Tutorial without coiling the wires, and thankfully it turned out to be neat too! Hope she will like it, and hope you would like it too!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Garnet Braided Cross

IMG_3877 IMG_3879 IMG_3894

Technique: Braided Cross Tutorial

The idea came across when I was speaking to Ms. Perri about the braided cross tutorial I was going to write – if you’re a fan of hers you would have known by now that, many of Ms. Perri creations have similar setting as the cross presented in this blog post. I was busy preparing to publish the tutorial and hence, haven’t got time to try this out until today.

So… what is it that I really wanted to tell?

Well I think each time when I speak to people I am inspired, or influenced. Then again I believe3 that not everything we heard we will process – you change when you are ready for a change. (oh that leads to another phrase that I love: “The only constant is change.”)

In summary, open our heart and willing to accept what other’s are trying to tell, you would often gain something out from it.

P/S: Thanks Perri, for your constant guidance all these while, thank you for your knowledge sharing, and than you for your constant support.

And for the rest of you, do enjoy the rest of your Sunday today!
