Perri's Chain Weave's Variations by Donna Spadafore

Perri's Chain Weave's Variations by Donna Spadafore
I have introduced Perri Jackson a.k.a. Shaktipaj Jewelry Designs's latest Wire Jewelry Tutorial (Perri's Chain Weave Wirework Donut Bail) last month, and these are some variation pieces done by Donna Spadafore a.k.a. Gailavira Jewelry.

The first two pictures in this blog post were her first two attempts. As she claimed: "I couldn't wait. I got all my orders filled as quickly as I could this morning so I could have a try at Perri Jackson's new tutorial. The chain part of the weave didn't come out as even as I had hoped, but not bad for a very rushed first try I guess. I decided to do the back a little differently so it would look different than the front to make it reversible (the original back is still pretty enough to be reversible, I just wanted something different)."

Perri's Chain Weave's Variations by Donna Spadafore

"Now I have all sorts of ideas. Next I want to try and put beads in the centers of the loops to see if I can make it work. After that, I'm wondering if I could combine the weave with the bottom part of my Hyacinth House design (that would end up with either 2 or 4 chains on the same weave). Too many ideas now...." She continues...

Perri's Chain Weave's Variations by Donna Spadafore
Above picture shows that Donna had introduced beads to the weave, she shared that by introducing beads in between weaves actually makes it harder to keep the weaves all even and centered,  she thinks she'll try keeping the frame just a tiny bit wider than the beads in her next attempt so that it will keep it all in line better.

Following two pieces are Donna's latest attempt as of today:
First picture: 20mm frosted black Agate donuts in copper. She used 28g for the weave and made it very narrow.
Perri's Chain Weave's Variations by Donna Spadafore

Second picture: Copper and blue Aventurine. Donna used a 50mm donuts. She combined the chain weave with another technique from her own hyacinth house tutorial for the bottom part of the design. It was a little tricky getting it started since she had to start on the narrow end. She ended up starting with only one chain, then having it branch off into two as the weave became wider.
Perri's Chain Weave's Variations by Donna Spadafore
As for the bracelet, she decided to add some beads as it's focal. The 4mm beads worked into the weave very well.

I certainly hope to see more pieces from Donna soon. :)

Hope you're inspired after reading, happy weekend all!

New Wire Wrap Jewelry Tutorials Listed

Marquis Pendant, Wire Wrap Jewelry Tutorial by Nicole Hanna
A couple more Wire Wrap Jewelry Tutorials by Nicole Hanna added to the inventory, here's some brief information about her line of collections:

An elegant setting for a marquis or oval cabochon or flat-back stone, best suited for those familiar with weaving and, preferably (though not necessary), cage wraps. Can be easily adapted for earrings!

Please note: These instructions will leave minimal scraps. If the size, shape or gauge of any components are changed, it will be necessary to adjust the lengths of your wires accordingly. It is recommended the user start with all materials, as indicated in the materials list, until thoroughly familiarized with the tutorial and technique.

Cradle Pendant, Wire Wrap Jewelry Tutorial by Nicole Hanna
An adorable way to capture a large oval bead, this "cradle" design cups the bead in a nest of woven layers. The tutorial is fully detailed with color photographs and accompanying written direction, with no step left untended. Pendant measures 4.5 cm in length, including crystal drops.

Embrace Pendant, Wire Wrap Jewelry Tutorial by Nicole Hanna
This tutorial details a wire woven setting for cabochons.

Repetative steps are not supported by photographic direction and students should be comfortable mirroring steps. Mirroring is only briefly discussed and is not accompanied by photographic direction, therefore this tutorial is best suited for the advanced or very advanced student.

Fortune Cookies, Wire Wrap Jewelry Tutorial by Nicole Hanna
An introduction to a simple (but effective) weave, this lesson details steps, both written and photographically, necessary to create these adorable fortune cookie earrings. Students should have some wire work experience, though experience with weaving is not necessary. Though the mirroring process is briefly explained, it is not supported with photographic guides, so students should have experience with mirroring pieces.

Side Sweep Charm, Wire Wrap Jewelry Tutorial by Nicole Hanna
Create an adorable charm which can be used as an earring, bracelet or necklace element. The instructions are clearly written and fully photographed, and are appropriate for students with basic wire working knowledge. Knowledge of weaving is not a prerequisite. Final piece measures just 2.5cm in length.

Cobra Pendant, Wire Wrap Jewelry Tutorial by Nicole Hanna
This tutorial, for the wire worker with some experience in weaving, details with full color photographs and accompanying written direction, the steps in creating a cobra oracle. Two snakes facing each other which is also a versatile design. Please note: Read the tutorial in its entirety before beginning construction. Hints and options are included in later steps and it is important to consider these possibilities before finalizing any steps. Mirroring is not explained, therefore, some experience in mirroring steps is necessary. Pendant measures approximately 2.5cm in length.

You may download all these tutorials at 30% discounted rate, with 20% further deduction when you have 3 or more items in your cart. Enjoy!

Happy crafting!

Jewelry Headband - Serena Flower, Double Layered

Because this is a jewelry headband, I wonder if Blaire Waldorf will like it. LOL.

Made in Malaysia (I meant both baby and the jewelry headband, lol.)

So I did not highjack the variation from Serena Flower Studs then. Instead of using elastic lace headband, I've opted the stronger base, and I thought the focal was too big, it is actually, quite alright when it's on my baby girl's head. :)

She's cute, isn't she? I simply can't take my eyes off her. So this marked the 3rd jewelry headband I have made for her, I already am planning for the next design! :D

Note: This is a variation of Serena Flower Studs / Post Earrings design. Tutorial is available for download at 50% + 20% further discount now:

Can't wait to start my next project. Artists who has daughter, are you just as crazy? LOL.

50% + 20% OFF DIY Jewelry Patterns aka Tutorials

Just like to make a quick announcement - that all DIY Jewelry Patterns / Tutorials by Corra Liew (me) and Achmad Irfan are now set with 50% discount, and are eligible for 20% further discount should you checked out 3 or more items marked with "%" sign, as usual.

All items' prices are updated on Etsy, ArtFire and Craftsy as well, I would encourage you to check out items either from http://de-cors.com or Craftsy because these two websites offers instant download, you do not need to wait for me to send you the file. :) For Etsy and ArtFire, there might be some slight delay but I will try to keep it to minimal!

P/S: Take note though, if you are checking out my items from my Craftsy's pattern's store, you will not enjoy the 20% further discount no matter how many items you bought at one go, the system there is too new to support that. Sides, tutorial packages also not available at Craftsy simply due to the same reason, they currently only supports PDF, not ZIP files. :)

P/S 2: I might not be posting so frequently after this blog post but I will be around, in the event of me taking too long to get back to you, please excuse me for the delay. I can explain. :)

Til then I see you again, take care!
