Wire Jewelry: Diamond Round Earrings

Diamond Round Dangling Earrings this is, also known as Diamond Circle Earrings.
Earrings' diameter: 2.3cm. Made with 92.5 silver wires and diamond-cut Cubic Zirconias.

These earrings will surely turn heads, I know I would! I have always love seeing people wearing simple diamond circle earrings, personally I'd think they shout louder than any colorful/ wild earrings. Oh wait, diamonds actually gathered all 7 seven colors I reckon? Earrings are not as heavy as some diamond hoop earrings can be, I love it for it's visibility - you just can't miss it when somebody is wearing it. And I am not ready for soldering just yet - so to create swirls to stay put all wires seems to be working. I love it's simplicity too, simple means durable and adaptable to any occasion, it go well with shirt-and-jeans as well as evening gowns, basically, these darling make pretty everyday pieces.

Material I've used:
- 20ga wires
- 30ga wires
- 1 pair of earhooks
- cubic zirconia beads

Considering this as an easy project, it took me approximately 4 hours completing one side of the earrings mainly on wire-wrapping the frames together as well as attaching a set of eight Diamond-cut Cubic Zirconias onto it. This sparklies go really well with Boyfriend Shirt + old-torn jeans and opened-toes heels.

See it's size on my palm:

Want a tutorial for DiamondsRound Earring design?

Love making jewelry, though it's a damn lonely process. The result is rewarding, and hey, I get to wear new jewelleries whenever I want. So please envy me, LOL!

UPDATE: Step By Step Tutorial that uses same technique to make this design is now available for download - Diamond Circle Ring.

Wire Jewelry Australia - RAU Pendant by Erin

Erin is back!

I have blogged about Erin's latest pieces in my Chinese blog, titled 银丝焊接 RAU 吊坠 just awhile ago, and had been hearing totally positive feedback!

The pendant measure 4.9cm tall and 2,2cn wide. According to Erin, the swirly pendant was her first try at filigree soldering and it was tricky. It's sterling and it will be up for sale in the Science & Poetry shop eventually. It was Maori inspired. Convo her if you think it should be yours! :)

Step By Step Wire Jewelry Tutorial – Bridal SilverLace Earrings, Wired Chinese Knot Series

Instant Download Step-By-Step Wire Jewelry Tutorial

Bridal SilverLace Earrings Tutorial is now available for download at de Cor’s Handmades official website – please take advantage of the 20% discount for second item too if you are intended to get more than just this tutorial.

October 2010 definitely is a wedding month in Malaysia! Basically I have to attend to wedding dinners every weekend starting from the first week of the month start. Hennley briefly mentioned about getting herself a pair of earrings last year, and the official order came in February this year. I have constructed 3 versions of this earring before finalizing the design. Here’s the write up if you are interested:

So here it is, for Autumn 2010, I am proud to present my new Step By Step Wire Jewelry Tutorial, filed under Wired Chinese Knot series, the Bridal SilverLace Earrings Tutorial. I choose to publish this today because today, the historical wonderful day of 10-10-10, is Ms. Hennley Sah and Mr. Devin Loong’s wedding! For those who’d requested for this tutorial, would you also please grant this lovely couple your blessing because, Hennley is the main source of my inspiration for this design, and she is too kind that she’d let me write the instruction in composing this supposedly private, exclusive and one-of-a-kind design into a tutorial, so now people may learn how I have constructed this pair of earrings. I myself is benefited too because I forget how I make all my designs too easily and now with this tutorial, I can certainly remember how it was done, and at the same time many handmade jewelry lovers too will know how this was made. Hennley, you are amazing!

I hope you enjoy your weekend! Til then, take care!

Handmade Wire Jewelry: Silver Lotus Earrings For wedding, Prototype

Handmade Wire Jewelry: Silver Lotus Earrings For wedding

Handmade Wire Jewelry: Silver Lotus Earrings For weddingHandmade Wire Jewelry: Silver Lotus Earrings For wedding
Happy Sunday all!!! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead soon!

This is yet  another new design to add into my collection! Again I am wearing it so that the customer know how does it look like on human ear! *Hey did you see my hair had grown. :P *
Just curious each time when you got a commissioned request from a customer that’s soon to be a bride, what she’d asked for? For me they often ask for something “safe”, so safe that’s so predictable, something cannot go wrong with. But why? It’s your big day, and you have a whole team of people you would hire to make you pretty (e.g. make up artist) and make you look pretty (your photographer), why not try something bold and be brave? :)

Handmade Luxurious and exotic design

So here what I have for her. She’s pretty much my height my weight and my everything, so she’s fit for something bigger, or bold. I considered adorning the piece with red garnet or teardrop amethyst, in the end I decided on Moonstone. The little shade of blue that shines when it undergo some light convinced me.
Measurement: 2inches long from ear wires, 1.5inches at it’s widest measure. Sturdy and light.
Material: Made with Artistic Wires (for prototyping only), adorned with Rock Crystals, Cubic Zirconia donut beads, and Moonstone.

Now I am waiting for the customer to confirm the design, then I will go ahead and break my silver for this pair of earrings. Wish me luck!

Til then, good luck and be good!

Wired Chinese Knot: Silver Knotted Oval Lace Earrings for Wedding, Finalized.

Wired Chinese Knot - Lacey Oval Earrings

Wired Chinese Knot - Lacey Oval EarringsWired Chinese Knot - Lacey Oval Earrings
Wired Chinese Knot - Lacey Oval EarringsWired Chinese Knot - Lacey Oval Earrings

Wired Chinese Knot series

Luxurious Wedding Jewelry this is!
Finalized piece. All metal are sterling silver. Adorned with Swarovski Crystal Pearls and Diamond cut’s Cubic Zirconia beads.

Jewelry Details/Measurement:
4cm tall, 3.5cm wide.
5.4gram each, i.e. 10.9gram total.

Took me whole week to construct this pair – don’t get me wrong, it’s not that complicated to make, just that I’ve got backache attack when I was constructing this, had no choice but take my time to construct this slowly. So as compared to the prototype piece, I’ve added tiny tiny diamond donuts right above the 8mm Swarovski Crystal Pearls, and took care of the side’s finishing.
I am meeting the bride soon before her wedding, and I plan to deliver this to her by hand. I am not sure about you, but I like having personal touch with my clients – if both parties can help it. I would try to meet them up at least once if possible though I can go through the design phases with them online, via E-mails, Skype, or any other instant messaging systems, but most of the time clients would want to meet up for delivery, for which I am glad.
So…
That’s it. I am done with this piece, though I have a tutorial to write for this design, but that will only happen after I finalize my next commissioned piece.
Stay tuned for my next wedding earrings design, and stay tuned for Silver Knotted Lace Earrings tutorial. :)

Handmade Jewelry – Dream Catcher Earrings, Wire Jewelry

Dream Catcher 1

This is a long overdue post! Click on the images to enlarge!

I fell in love with this dream catcher, a handmade jewelry by Zyta the moment I’ve seen it in Jewelry Lessons, I contacted her right away to get her permission to feature her jewelry in my blog, she was very supportive and had been corporative!

She made a DreamCatcher Earrings to add into her Handmade Wire Jewelry Making profile.

I know what dreamcatcher is, but I have zero knowledge with it’s background. All I have been taught about is that dreamcatchers are to catch bad dreams, from Wikipedia, it says:

“Bad dreams would stay in the net, disappearing with the light of day. Good dreams would pass through and slide down the feathers to the sleeper.”

And here’s the description of this pair of Earrings by Zyta:

“The traditional dream catcher was intended to protect the sleeping individual from negative dreams, while letting positive dreams through. The positive dreams would slip through the hole in the center of the dream catcher, and glide down the feathers to the sleeping person below. The negative dreams would get caught up in the web, and expire when the first rays of the sun struck them.

The dream catcher has been a part of Native American culture for generations. One element of Native American dream catcher relates to the tradition of the hoop. Some Native Americans of North America held the hoop in the highest esteem, because it symbolized strength and unity. Many symbols started around the hoop, and one of these symbols is the dream catcher.”

I specifically like how Zyta constructed the net with wires and then attached to the wire-frames, and those blue turquoises really stands out didn’t they? Too bad I don’t have a picture of it on a clean background (but the current background for this picture is so beautiful!!! Look at that blue sky!!!!), here’s another picture I thought could show clearer image of the creation:

I wonder where she got those feathers from? Where? Zyta? :P

To hunt Zyta down, visit her at following websites, she sell all these handmade jewelleries there:

It’s Sunday, and I am sleeping in today. I hope you will have a relaxing and enjoyable Sunday too!

Wired Chinese Knot: Version 2 - Knotted Oval Lace Earrings for Wedding, Prototype

[Click on the images to enlarge]
This is a continued post from Wired Chinese Knot: Knotted Oval Lace Earrings for Wedding, Prototype.

Constructing Unique Luxurious Handmade Wired Chinese Knot Jewelry for Wedding
The first version involved wire weaving on both sides of the jewelry to hold the in-loop curls, although I’ve added 8 round Swarovski Crsytal Pearls the shape is not steady. I was supposed to show it to the client but she was away from home for the weekend, and because I was on the roll I decided to move on to working on improving it without gathering feedback first. As I was tying those knots (with a-hem, lots of love) one after another, I thought may be I should instead of tying different sizes of the knots let’s see what will turn out if all knots are in same size.
The inner frame was initially - “U” shape, but it just doesn’t go well with same sized knots; I changed it to “V” frame – ahah! I love it almost immediately already.

Let the Bride Choose Her Jewelry
I only manage to catch my client after I’ve came up with Version 2, and she couldn’t decide, she thought she likes Version 1’s ‘U’ inner shape more, I told her to go home and think about it and we will talk again the next day. If she decided that she didn’t like Version 2 then we will figure out something else. And again, I didn’t wait for her to make decision, I thought if her choice was Version 1 then I would better off having some solution for the flaws I’ve discovered making Version 1. So on the same night itself I worked out Version 3 – an improved version from Version 1, adding additional wires to stay put the shape, sturdier, and more balanced in shape.
Click on the images to enlarge:
Wired Chinese Knot Lacey Oval Earrings
Decided Her Jewelry
“We decided that we like Version 2.” She told me the next day.
The rest are history. :)

Feedback are PRICELESS!!!
To help building up her confident, I even ran Vote and Poll in few places to gather feedback, and here's some of them:
Marianne 'Marika' S: I agree, I like the second one better...BUT The first one is still gorgeous!
Shay S: If I had to choose, I'd say #2 :)
Cynthia C: Ok, here's my weird answer... (LOL) I loved the u-shape interior in the first version, but I like the rest of the earring better on the second version. If I had to choose one, it would be ver2.

Krista F: version 2 because I love how the intricate the work is but they are both beautiful
Kerckhof: Version 2. The shape is more outlined with the pearls border and the wire in the center of the earring. The shape looks stronger and more defined.

Wendy S: version 2!

Rita G: I love version 2, is elegant and beautiful!!
Susan M S: Cora, they are both lovely. Like version 2 just a little better. It shows off the intricate work better. Version 1 is nice as well, but the intricate work, while still there, appears to blend into the design instead of pop.
Val L: My first reaction is that I like version 2 better, but I really like the top of version 1 and how the wire comes down and curls instead of coming up from the bottom on version 1.
Florence W: do you sell tutorials? (Yes I do sell tutorials, Florence!!!)

Dana H: Love them both but loving version 2 a bit more for all the same reasons as everyone else :)

Olga S-R: they are both beautiful but version 2 looks more antique....
Kim A: Both are gorgeous, but I like #2
[More comments can be viewed from de Cor’s Handmades fanpage.]
And here are some from Jewelry Forum:
khittenheart: I like v2 better; somehow the V shape seems to flow smoothly.
Nancy: They're all gorgeous but I like the V-shaped one the best.
Shae: Hi Corra~They are all very beautiful. But, I was almost instantly drawn to the one that V's in the center. So I will have to go with that one! I will say, I like the woven sides on the 1st and last versions. I think it gives it a nice finished look. But, I really like the V center & the small stone in the center. Could you mix them together? hahaha ;) Very Lovely Work! Shae :)
peridot60: Version 2 is my favourite, but I agree with Shae about the woven sides. Maybe it's time for version 4?
Mary: Wow, that's a tough one... I like the "V" a lot, but there's a lot to be said for the "U". If I were shopping, I'd probably go for the "V". Hope that helps - there both incredible!
gw1008: Absolutely brilliant! I, too, like the V -- as it currently is, without woven sides. Very classy.
Georgette: What technique did you use to fill in the space between the frame? Crochet? It's a very unique piece. Thanks for showing it! (It is Wired Chinese Knot Georgette!!! :D )
Becky: I actually like the taperof the woven upper frame in V1 best.
Martine: Hi Corra,They are all gorgeous but I think my favorite is number 2. I like the shape and balance of the design and the tiny sparkly stone adds an anchor and a focal point. On saying that, I like them all!
wiggo29: wow you have done it again, you always make amazing things!!!!! I vote for V2. i think it is sexy and super stylish!
Elena: I like the one that the middle
WW: Hi, Corra, This is a really pretty design and IMHO well worth pursuing. Because you asked, here is my own 2-5 cents worth. I, too, am drawn to the "V" shape in version 2 which echoes the "V" shape on the bottom. Further, by adding yet another "V"-like shape at the top of the piece and integrating this into a bail connection of some variety would complete the design. You would then have the magic odd number of shapes (V-shapes x 3) repeated in the design and the eye would then flow from the "v"s of the bottom, back up to the pretty pearl surrounded by the "v" shape at the top and therefore, keeping the eye traveling throughout the design.
In addition, the weave on v#3 on the upper sides adds another layer of texture while contrasting with the "tangled?" weave on the bottom (I cannot quite tell which weave from the photos). Some would say, however, that keeping the same weave throughout the design encourages continuity. Personal taste here.
One question: was the stability factor that you mentioned with v#1 solved in the later versions? Anyway, this is a really pretty piece and I am looking forward to the finished product. Thank you for sharing and thank you for the opportunity to share in your design process.

kit___: While I like all three versions. I like version 2 with the "V" the best. I also like 3, the detail in the center is very nice.
fluffe1980: Version 2 for me :)
flake82: They all are very beautiful but I like V2 a bit more.
Christine: Hi Corra, Once again gorgeous work. I am drawn to #2 because of the shape and I like how the netting goes all the way to the bottom of the V giving it a complete look. Beautiful!
Gwynettekea: I had a hard time. My computer wouldn't let me see the 4th one enlarged and only held of the 3rd one.
I was drawn to the one with the V and with the extra detail up the side. I liked the U also but lean a little more to the v and how its followed through in the technique.
Lisa: I am drawn to the V in the middle. #2 is beautifully made (as all of them) but it catches my eye more quickly than the others. Excellent work Corra. Really beautiful and elegantly done. :oD

Oh man, only if you know how thankful I am to hear feedback from you all, you guys are amazing!!! For someone being obsessed with whatever she is creating or created, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your constructive feedback and contribution, I couldn’t have asked for more! :)
Will keep you posted with the progress! :)

Custom Book Publishing to Apple iBookStore

 Test1CoverV8_sample

Tada!!!

I have finally finalized a eBook Cover template for custom book publishing and listed this service in Etsy!

Like I said having a pretty, clean, timeless and presentable cover for your book is critical, why?

Because, when you are selling electronic products such as book or software that’s to be delivered or downloaded digitally over internet, without having a chance to convince or promote your product to your customers, according to research, you only have TWO seconds to secure your sale. Yes, nothing more than that golden TWO seconds, if you get their attention and at the same time delivered the message of what you are selling to them in that two seconds, chances are they would stop and flip your pages – to see your product descriptions or probably, check out who you are.

The cover design is the make or break of the deal, period.

Like I said in the previous blog post, that I have conducted an unofficial survey to gather feedback from people that’s in various area, including IT professionals that would spend their lunch hour surfing the net buying stuff from ecommerce website than going out for a social lunch), financial analyst whom get excited in seeing the bank notes and figures, COO and CEO of consulting firms which write and read proposals more than a highschool teacher marking student’s exam papers, a 3 years old that would only jump when he sees Barney the purple dinosaur...

And this is the most acceptable cover so far!

Who owns the copyright of the cover
By engaging this service you will be the sole copyright owner of the created cover(s).

How do I start:
1. Submit your original eBook cover image (or you might take this opportunity to change your eBook cover page)
2. Submit me your logo image
3. Wait for less than 24 hours
4. Finalize and confirm your cover design in within 3 revisions. (Check the sample covers I have shown in this listing)

THAT IS IT!!! You will be the owner of the cover image I have created for you, and you are free to use them for your eBOOK cover no matter where you publish it - Be it in Etsy, ArtFire, Smashwords and iBookStore(Apple).

Here’s some examples!!!

Special thanks to Anya and Gene for contributing Rosalie Ring picture LazziKittie picture respectively for demonstrations, they both now have the cover image (without the SAMPLE stamp) for their future usage. :)

Lovely, isn’t it? :)

Hope to see your book on Apple soon!
