Handmade Jewelry Malaysia - Silver Rose Studs Earrings

100% Handmades, completed and delivered to customer on 27th February 2013.

No one pair of these pretties are identical, not even when they are bound to be a pair! I change the making of this design every time I am making a new pair, might not be visible to customers eyes, but I assure you they are different.

This pair, for instance, the way of the Swarovski Chaton Montees Crystals are attached differently as compared to my previous Silver Rose Studs Earrings, I hope with the new method the beads stays where and how they should be. :)

Hope you enjoy viewing!

Crystal Studs Earrings Adorned with Forget-Me-Knot, Wired Chinese Knot

Plain Blue Crystal Studs Adorned by Forget-Me-Knot

Plain Brown Crystal Studs Adorned by Forget-Me-Knot

Plain Pink Crystal Studs Adorned by Forget-Me-Knot

I was babywearing my little one in a department store the other day, then we walked passed accessories section. Baby being a baby, she just decided to grab stuff along the way and will not let go, I reasoned with her (ya right, as if she can understand, but I had to try, right?), and in the end she agreed to let me put everything back to the shelves but taking just a set of 3 pair of studs.

They are not expensive.

MYR9 for 3 pairs of crystal studs earrings. I've took a closer look, the workmanship is not bad at all.

Tried if on the Forget-Me-Knot, they all turned out pretty well.

I adorned the pink crystal studs earrings with my Forget-Me-Knot for my little one's photoshooting session, it was a pink theme. :)

Malaysia Handmade Wire Jewelry - ROSE Studs

9pm to 11pm, just enough to construct one ROSE knot and attached it to one of the stud base previously created.

Nothing beats baby's bio clock, she woke up at 11pm on the dot, just in time for me to give it the final touch to the stud.

Will work on the other side of the stud earrings soon, hopefully can deliver the project before Chinese New Year. :)

Happy weekend all!

Interchangeable Knotted Flower Petals for Studs and Hoops Earrings, Wired Chinese Knot Jewelry

I am totally excited about this newly finalized creation!
I was cracking my head on what do I do about the knotted flower petals and then I decided to leave it as it is so YOU can decide what to do about it. :)

With an almost 11mo baby I have, as usual, very limited time to work with my wires, so this pretty took me about 5 days to complete, averagely 2 hours a day, so it's a total 10 hours, not too bad for a handmade jewelry project. :)

A side view of it, so you have some idea on it's weave. I bend it a little to give it some waves so it won't look as boring:

I first fit my 0.8ct Diamond Ear Studs to it, it gives it a new life instantly!

And it goes really well with my Platinum Enhanced 92.5 Sterling Silver Ear Studs with Cubic Zirconia Stones too.. :)

I then test it out with my Rose Studs Earrings, it is still looking pretty.

And last but not least, just yet another very popular studs design of mine: ZHU Studs.

It works for hoops earrings too - the plain ones. :)

A quick video on it's look and feels:

DIY Baby Wire Jewelry Headband with Elastic Lace

Time flies, she's 2 months old now. :)

I made her her first jewelry headband - with my ROSE design, but instead of using 24ga wires, I opt-ed for 26ga wires to produce a smaller wired-rose as result.

I did not photograph the making process, though it's pretty straight forward. The initial plan was to use Gaussian ribbon, with that, i attached a small piece of elastic band onto the ribbon, it turned out pretty decent too but when I wore it on my baby's head, it left her a mark showing that it was too tight. So I decided to ditch the ribbon and go for elastic lace instead - I am glad that it turned out to be totally comfortable, baby didn't even notice the headband until she accidentally touches the ROSE when she was moving her hands and legs (and then yes, she kept touching it with her little hand that's still in mitten, lol.).

Tools:
- flush cutter
- scissors
- thread
- needle

Material:
- 26ga wires
- red color felt
- elastic lace
- 8mm swarovski crystal pearl

Steps:
1. Make a ROSE.
2. Cut a small piece of red color felt according to ROSE's shape.
3. Measure and get baby's head measurement.
4. Cut 2 strips of elastic laces 3cm shorter than baby's head measurement. Let say your baby's head measurement is 38cm, cut 2 strips of 35cm.
5. Put both elastic laces together and make a circle, stitch them up at the lace's ends.
6. Fold them up to get the center of the headband, stitch the ROSE charm onto it.

Anyway this will not be the last time I am making headband, I will remember to photograph down the making process next time around. :)

Hope you have fun trying too!

Wired Chinese Knot - ZHU.Studs

DIY Mommies wear Stud / Post Earrings this is!!!

I named it "ZHU.Stud" - inspired from Chinese Knotting, it's constructed using Chinese Knots, just that I've constructed it with wires instead of traditional fabric cords.

Earrings Measurement: 5mm X 5mm
Weight: 0.7gram each stud.

I only used 20ga wires amd 24ga wires to create this pair of earrings, and standard wire jewelry making tools for execution.

The final result is extremely light weight and I can barely feel it, it's also tiny enough thus I doubt any little one is able to snatch - then again, will need to observe. I remember when my sister had her first child, I made a pair of earrings as gift, she said thanks politely but I've never see her wearing it. When I asked, she told me she can't really wear any dangling earrings, she only wear simple studs.

Since then I've been creating studs.

Pardon my ignorance back then, it's new to me, that babies love to pull, snatch and grasp things as they discover what their hands can do, and often the victim is their Mom. My nephew yanked my earrings as and when he want (sometimes I forgot to remove them before I approach the baby), I had to beg him to release me! Hoops are the worst accessories, too, unless you enjoy punishments.

So yes, we are expecting our first little one next month, and I STILL want to be accessorized - and I know many Moms too, therefore, for someone who had not been producing making any wire jewelry, I took out my toolbox again and made this pair of stud earrings. I know I would be totally busy with my little one soon enough, and of hand I have two stud earrings designs yet to be materialized.

So what’s the solution if you still want to accessorize? Studs — the classic, a must-have in the earring world. Because they fasten on tight to your earlobe, a baby’s hands aren’t as likely to grab them so easily.

Other Stud/ Post Earrings designs I've made so far that you might be interested:
Rose Stud/ Post Earrings
Stud/ Post Earrings for White Swan
Woodsen Stud/ Post Earrings
Lilyv, Stud/ Post Earrings
Squarie, Stud/ Post Earrings
Basically, Lilyv and Squarie is the extended design of ZHU.Studs.

So if you are expecting, or if you wish to accessorize your friends/ relatives that's expecting or already have kids, I think this could be a best pressie for them - and you DIY it, that add extra meaning to it. :)

Happy crafting!

Woodsen Studs, Wired Chinese Knot Jewelry

Woodsen Studs, Inspired By Lily van der Woodsen.
Filed under Wired Chinese Knot jewelry series, studs earrings.
Measurement: 2.5cm X 3cm

I am a big fan of Gossip Girl drama series and Lily van der Woodsen, the mother of Serena van der Woodsen, had always been my obsession, she's like the another version of Maggie Cheung to me. In short, I will want to age gracefully like them. *grin*

So it all started after seeing this picture:
I thought she really is a studs person don't you think so? When I saw this all i had in mind was to create a pair of Lily-feel's studs for myself, then I thought if I were to make a pair of studs or post-earrings for Lily, I would certainly want to create a pair of Wired Chinese Knot jewelry for her.

So here it is, I created them, and took some photos of me wearing them:

Pictures are a little over exposed, but you get the idea. The plus point for this design is that eventhough it's considerably a large piece of studs or post-earrings, it's not heavy at all, and the nature of the knots can tolerate some bending and readjustment, so it's fine for me to adjust it to be a little weavy or curvy, like this:

I love what I create. :)

Thanks for dropping by, hope you had fun viewing and have a pleasant weekend!
