Gold Rose Studs Earrings, Malaysia Handmade Jewelry

Gold Rose Studs. Made with 14K Gold Filled wires, gold plated prong settings featuring Swarovski Xilion Chatons.

I managed to catch some time to quickly setup a place to take some photos via camera (instead of phone, oh I miss my DSLR and lenses.), 30 minutes, just in time to hear my daughter to wake up from her nap. Now that I am browsing through the photos, the more i see the more I am losing faith. The late nights certainly planting some side effects, only 3 or 4 pictures out from those photos are not blur, yes i know i could have use tripod, but man I only have 30 minutes, and the lighting wasn't even perfect for photoshooting. /_\

BUT I AM LUCKY! This is one of those that's decent enough to present. So here you go!

Can't wait to see the reaction of the new owner of these pretties!!!

Handmade Silver Rose Studs Post Earrings - Commissioned by Myra

Myra just drove to where I live to pick up this pair of earrings (Thanks dear! Sorry I didn't come out to greet you, it's my little one's nap time, thanks for understanding!)

It's a mixed feeling to part with what I have made, but to go further one must think farther, I have been visioning myself bumping into someone who'd wearing my creations, I trust that day will come. :)

Like I've said, no one pair of Handmade Silver ROSE Studs Post Earrings are the same, this pair, is different from Jeci's, though the difference are not significant from it's appearance, it is to me, each weave and each wires ties are very different, another crafter might be able to spot it, not regular wearer. Hehe.

Handmade Silver Rose Studs Post Earrings - Commissioned by Jeci

Ms. Jeci contacted me in March to place order, she was going to give birth to a April baby! I thought it's very thoughtful of her to have the Mother's Day gift planned out before the arrival of her baby, she even planned how the earrings should be delivered so she can gift this to the receiver in time. :)

Thanks Jeci, hope she loves it.

Malaysia Handmade Jewelry - Completed and Ready to Ship

I hadn't posted anything last week, not because I hadn't made anything, I was practicing.

When I was finalizing the last pair of ROSE Studs Earrings last month I found a new way to deliver this pretty design, so I sent a mail to both the customers telling them that there might be slight delay on the delivery of their commissions, "I need to practice", I told them.

They were very supportive, and one of them actually asked: "How much do I have to top up?"

I chuckled a little.

"No sir, no additional charges."

Though I do use more silver to accomplish this version of Silver Rose Studs, with a different gauges of wires.

Will be off to post office to send them off this Friday, can't wait to find if the new owners would love them. :)

These sisters are going to part for good - one continue to reside in Malaysia and another one is going to be on it's way to Germany.

Hope you love what I've created! :)

Malaysia Handmade Jewelry - Rose Studs Earrings, Wired Chinese Knot

Phew, finally done with this commissioned project! I was so afraid that I can't make it in time before the Chinese New Year break!

This is a variation of ROSE Pendant and this is not the first time I am reproducing ROSE Studs Earrings, but this time I replaced the cubic zirconia diamond cut beads with Swarovski Chaton Montees. Took awhile for these goodies to arrive, I am glad that now is all good. :)

DIY Baby Wire Jewelry Headband with Elastic Lace

Time flies, she's 2 months old now. :)

I made her her first jewelry headband - with my ROSE design, but instead of using 24ga wires, I opt-ed for 26ga wires to produce a smaller wired-rose as result.

I did not photograph the making process, though it's pretty straight forward. The initial plan was to use Gaussian ribbon, with that, i attached a small piece of elastic band onto the ribbon, it turned out pretty decent too but when I wore it on my baby's head, it left her a mark showing that it was too tight. So I decided to ditch the ribbon and go for elastic lace instead - I am glad that it turned out to be totally comfortable, baby didn't even notice the headband until she accidentally touches the ROSE when she was moving her hands and legs (and then yes, she kept touching it with her little hand that's still in mitten, lol.).

Tools:
- flush cutter
- scissors
- thread
- needle

Material:
- 26ga wires
- red color felt
- elastic lace
- 8mm swarovski crystal pearl

Steps:
1. Make a ROSE.
2. Cut a small piece of red color felt according to ROSE's shape.
3. Measure and get baby's head measurement.
4. Cut 2 strips of elastic laces 3cm shorter than baby's head measurement. Let say your baby's head measurement is 38cm, cut 2 strips of 35cm.
5. Put both elastic laces together and make a circle, stitch them up at the lace's ends.
6. Fold them up to get the center of the headband, stitch the ROSE charm onto it.

Anyway this will not be the last time I am making headband, I will remember to photograph down the making process next time around. :)

Hope you have fun trying too!

Wired Chinese Knot – Silver ROSE Studs and Pendant

IMG_2793

This set of jewelry are result of combination of Wired Chinese Knotting with Wire Weaving. :)

Wired Chinese Knot ROSE Studs:
The ROSE focal is made up with two Wired Chinese Knotting, and the base is composed with basic Wire Weaving technique.

Wired Chinese Knot ROSE Pendant:
A slight twist from the ROSE studs in becoming a ROSE pendant, that I won’t lie. Hehe. When the order came in the reference item used was CZ ROSE Pendant Build 7.0 finalized in April 28, 2009. Client said the owner didn’t like the coils, and would like it to changed to be the same base as stud. I said no problem, of course.

Design Background/ History:
I made the very first pair of ROSE studs in January 15, 2010, while prototyping Christine’s earrings in January 2010, finalized in February 2010, and have been receiving orders for ROSE studs since. I can’t remember how many pairs of ROSE studs I have made and sold, but as of now I am still spending 7 hours to construct a ROSE stud no less. There are too much details to take care of – the studs base’s measurement, the weaving path, setting the focal, hiding the wires tails and adjusting those petals.

To make these Silver ROSEs, you need to combine two instructions delivered by RosabellaRose

Have you ever had a moment like this, that when you are focusing on making your design, you make them full-hearted and 100% of your concentration… When done, you found that you can’t take your eyes off it…
I have a dream – that one day I will create my design with precious, precious metal that shall not tarnish, that would not fade. Instead of Cubic Zirconias, it will be Diamonds, instead of Sterling Silver, it will be Platinum, or Rose Gold – to match the name “rose”.

Hmm…
Perhaps I should reposition the whole thing.
I shall set it as a “Goal”, instead of thinking it as a “dream”. :)

Wish you have a wonderful week ahead.

張三丰的智慧

IMG_9287
IMG_9423

[There are some terms can’t be translated into English and hence I am posting this entry in Chinese language. In short, the lesson learnt from this project is to forget everything I’ve learned about wires and knots, then let the new wires and knots surprised me in the end. The first picture shows the ROSE stud I have had in mind for a longest time and finally made, and the second picture shows the outcome after much of the brain-storming sessions with Christine. I like this kind of new sparks, and I appreciate all of the input she’d shared. :)]

Rose Stud with CZ

IMG_9348 IMG_9351 IMG_9352 IMG_9376 IMG_9391
ROSE stud surrounded by Cubic Zirconias.
I like working with Christine – it was her idea to replace the focal stone with Swarovski Crystal Pearl (Gold), and surround the Rose with sparkling stones after I’ve told her the stud base is extendible.
I value constructive feedback, I am more than willing to take up new challenges and I am thrilled seeing the result.

Oh my poor fingers: ROSE Stud {Colour Mixing}

IMG_9302 IMG_9303 IMG_9305 IMG_9314 IMG_9317 IMG_9318

Seriously, what do you think? I think the goldish made the texture shout, I think it is gorgeous, I think it made the details even more…visible!

Again this is yet another experiment piece – putting silver and goldish metal together. Unfortunately the half-hard non-tarnish brass simply isn’t right for this design, my poor fingers, though I might eventually make a pair for myself for keepsake.

IMG_9307

There…. Observe my finger – those aren’t dirt, it’s my dead skin, I’ve made the stud last night and this picture is captured this morning, I thought my finger is sending me some sort of signal/warning. I think I should ditch this idea haha. I need be kind to my fingers so that I could create more! :P

What ya think?
